A blog: why?

My aim is to awaken, to reveal, to inspire, to transmit ideas

Why a blog? Yet another blog among all those already in cyberspace? Doesn’t our universe suffer from an excess of messages, noise and data?

I like to hope that this blog is different. It has three objectives:

  1. To select those grains of truth to keep hold of among the mass of news, in particular among those ideas or information which don’t make the headlines, or aren’t ‘trending’, but which constitute enough intelligent signals to enlighten us. This, while avoiding being ‘steamrolled’ by that ever present pressure of immediacy.
  2. To resurrect and take charge of a ‘collective memory’ which, thanks to multiple references to world history, can help us better prepare tomorrow, better build our projects and better accompany our clients and those close to us. And also to help us keep our confidence in the future!
  3. To use the suggestive force of images, and not to let ourselves be hemmed in by words; to allow an interplay of contrast, astonishment, surprise, complicity. Almost all the photos are taken from Nicolas Rousseaux’s photography bank (50,000 shots). Each image tells a story too, in its own way, and gives rise to a particular sensation.

Nicolas Rousseaux runs Mediation-Consulting, specialised in change management strategies. A contributor to the Harvard Business Review in French, he has worked in, and stayed for longer periods, in over 60 countries, China and the US in particular (35 years working in and visiting each).

As an expert, he accompanies decision-makers and contributes towards their decision-making and managerial strategies.

As a writer and journalist, he has recently published a work on the power of cross-cultural perceptions between France and China: ‘Images croisées France-Chine’, published in French and Chinese. He is the author of various other books and works of research.

An innovator, he launched, among other processes, ‘cultural sampling’ in organisations, ‘cross-cultural’ perceptions in the context of mergers, the ‘Cultural Due Diligence’, ‘speed networking’,’trans-sector’ strategic immersions.

For over 30 years, Nicolas has been analysing and acting on the transformation of corporate cultures in France and globally.
